Blonde Brownies

A non-chocolate variation of the bar cookie called "Brownies". Sadly, not chocolate, but still yummy heaven. Good for those new year resolves to cut out the chocolate habit.

Blonde Brownies

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans


Directions:
  • Oven Temperature: 350 degrees F.
  • Baking Time: 20-25 minutes
  • Makes: 48 small bars
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.

Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

Melt the butter; remove from heat. Stir in the brown sugar and combine. Add the eggs and vanilla; stir with the butter/sugar mixture until well combined.

Stir in dry ingredients and pecans into the wet mixture. Spread in a pan and bake.

Let cool in the pan on racks. Cut into bars while still warm.
