And yes, I do silly things too. Like make them their own cookies. And even though they both are close to 100 pounds each, they actually like these little treats the most. Tasty stuff!
So here's a dog cookie bound to be a hit with your little puppies. Or big puppies,, whichever you might have ...
Cheesy Dog Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (you can substitute all-purpose flour if needed)
- 1/4 cup dry milk (non-fat or whole)
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1/2 cup water
Directions:
- Oven Temperature: 350 degrees F.
- Baking Time: 25-30 minutes
- Makes: 24 treats
In a large bowl, mix the shredded cheeses with oil. Stir in the flour, dry milk and garlic salt until blended. Add water and knead until the dough comes together into a ball.
Roll out the dough on a light floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out treats using a cookie cutter, and repeat until all the dough is used. Bake until treats are golden brown, 25-30 minutes.
Allow to cool thoroughly.
